March 12th, 2008

Mike Conley has a couple of last minute shows coming up.  On March 28th, he will be playing at Hall's Factory.....On the 29th he will be accompanied by Todd Phillips on piano , also at the Factory, for an evening of jazz standards.  April Friday, 4th - The Beef Manhattans @ The Mad Anthony Brewery!!!!  On Saturday, April 5th, Mike will be performing at CaHoot's CoffeeHouse up in Angola.  This show is being recorded for the local public access station & promises to be a very special evening.  In another last minute booking, Mike will be performing again at an awesome little Pub.....Pulver's....That show will be Friday, April 25th 9:30pm.  Check the "Shows" section of this site for more information upcoming gigs.

Mike Conley's "jazz standard" /rat pack era band, The Beef Manhattans, have picked up a last minute show on Friday, March 7th at Duty's Uptown Bar & Grill.  Duty's is a hot little club located on Dupont Rd., just behind Casa Restaurant in Fort Wayne, IN.......Show starts @ 9pm.

Sunday March 9th, Mike Conley will be MC at the Kiwana's Chili Cookoff at the Mad Anthony Brewery/ Original Munchies.  If you make an awesome chili - bring it!!!  If you don't - bring $5 & enjoy everyone else's!!!  This event is from 3 - 6pm

February 25th, 2008

Mike Conley has been invited to perform at this years Whammy Awards Show to be held on Feb. 28th at Piere's Entertainment Complex - Ft. Wayne, IN.  Mike has been nominated for 3 awards......"Best Solo Act", "Best Duo w/ Chris Dodds" & "Best Singer-Songwriter".  Mike will be performing with violinist & former Conley bandmember, Gwendra Turney.  Mike was originally slated to play with his partner, Chris Dodds; however, Chris is unavailable for the event.  The show starts at 6pm........Mike & Gwendra will be hitting the stage at 9pm.

Mike Conley's band, The Beef Manhattans, are very excited to announce that they have been  invited to perform at this years Jazzfest!!!  NIPR is the host of the show and it will be held at the Botanical Conservatory on Friday, February 22nd.....Show starts at 6pm & the Beef Manhattans go on at 7:30!!!!  Here's the official poster of this awesome event: New_Folder\JazzFestPost08LR.pdf .  For more information on Jazzfest, here's the link to NIPR's website:  http://www.nipr.fm/ .

Every year, Whatzup Magazine recognizes the efforts of the artistic community in NE Indiana by having their annual "Whammy" awards program.  The "Whammy" award is the area's version of the "Grammy".  The "Whammy" is an award that is strictly determined by "FAN VOTING".  Mike Conley has been nominated for 3 "Whammy" awards........"Best Solo Artist", "Best Duo w/ Chris Dodds" &  "Best Singer-songwriter".  The deadline to vote is just around the corner (Jan. 31st), so, please submit your vote ASAP.......Mike appreciates your continued support!!!!!!

The Beef Manhattans are suddenly a hot commodity and are getting booked for '08; their first out-of-town gig will be in Mike's hometown..........Mark your calendar - on March 1st, the Beef Manhattans will be playing on Lake James @ Club Paradise - Angola, IN .... show starts @ 8pm.

Mike Conley was recently interviewed by Whatzup Magazine......Look for the write-up to be in the next issue - November 29th!!!  Mike also recently did a much-needed photo-shoot..........it's been a while!!!!!

Mike Conley's  new jazz project has been officially kicked off!!  As mentioned in the prior post, the band is named "The Beef Manhattans" & definitely has a "rat-pack" flavor to it and played to a "packed" house at the Mad Anthony Brewery this past Friday........The next show for the Beef Manhattans is Friday Nov. 2nd @ Columbia street West (5-7pm "Happy Hour") and Saturday Nov. 3rd @ the Green Frog.......The Green Frog is owned by mayoral candidate Tom Henry's wife, Cindy.......with the elections being the following Tuesday, we might have some political rumbling in the air ....... could be interesting!!!!

Mike Conley is currently working on a new Jazz-band project with 3 cool cats......Casey Stansifer is playing upright bass, John Moss is on the drums & Todd Phillips is playing the piano (& some trumpet, too!!)..... Mike will not be playing guitar in this project - however, he will be the singer.  The format of the band is old-school "Rat-Pack" style  standards from artists such as Tony Bennett & Frank Sinatra.

Mike Conley and Chris Dodds have begun their summer concert series up at the lakes.   The upcoming summer fun will soon be listed on the "shows" page.

Mike Conley & Chris Dodds will be performing at the 2006  "Friday Nite Live" Concert Series on Friday, July 21st at Jefferson Pointe, in Fort Wayne, IN.  Last year, there were over 1,000 people in attendance to watch Mike & Chris ROCK OUT!!!

February 21st, 2006

Mike Conley has been asked by Mark Burnett Productions (creators of "Survivor") to give a private audition, on March 12th in Chicago,  for the upcoming CBS television reality show "RockStar - Season 2".   Unlike last year's show, which was based on people competing for a spot in an existing band (INXS), this year's show will be based on discovering "singer/ songwriters".

Mike Conley & Chris Dodds have been asked to perform at this year's "Whammy Awards" show on Thursday, March 2nd @ Piere's.  Mike & Chris have been nominated for "Best Duo" and will be performing an "Acoustic All-Star" jam with Duane Eby, Sunny Taylor, Mark Hutchins & David Todoran.

The Mike Conley Band is up & running!!  The next scheduled show is Friday, December 23rd @ Columbia Street West.

The Mike Conley Band is proud to announce that their song "Shallow" has made the x102.3fm's "Essentials" cd.  The Essentials disc is a compilation disc that features local talent from northeast Indiana.   X102.3fm is also going to be giving 2 lucky bands regular airplay.  The two bands chosen will be based strictly on fan voting.  To vote for The Mike Conley Band, click onto www.x102fm.com go to the lower left side of the page, and vote (it takes about 10 seconds).....The band appreciates it!!

News - September 9th, 2005 

On Saturday, October 1st, the Mike Conley Band will be performing their first "official" full night of music.  The show will be from 10:00pm til 2:00am @ Columbia Street West.  Up to this point, Mike has assembled the band for special occasions, but, chose to focus primarily on his singer-songwriter, solo acoustic career.  However, due to the success of his first full-length cd, "My Little Secret" and some recent interest from record industry folks, Mike has assembled the band to perform on a more regular basis.  Expect to hear a lot from his album, some very cool covers &, who knows, maybe some newly written stuff, too!!

News - March 20th, 2005

On Tuesday, April 5th, Mike will be performing a very special show with Nashville based band, Thornton, at Columbia Street West.  Show starts at around 10:00p.m.  For more information on Thornton, go to www.thorntonmusic.com - they are awesome!!

Mike Conley took home 4 "Whammy" Awards at this year's Whatzup Magazine awards show!!!  With over 1,000 votes tallied, Mike was voted "Best Live Solo Artist", "Best Live Duo/ with Chris Dodds", "Best Singer/ Songwriter" & "Cd Release of the Year".  "Thank You" to those of you who voted for Mike & continues to support his musical endeavors.

In other news, Mike's tune "Shallow" is continuing to move up the garageband.com charts!!  It has shot all the way up to #7 on the current Alternative Rock charts & #23 on the All-time Alternative Rock charts (this is out of almost 15,000 songs!!!).  For the week of March 21st, "Shallow" will be the Alternative Rock song of the week & featured on garageband.com's home page!!!  Check Mike out at www.garageband.com.

Due to a scheduling conflict, Mike will not be participating in the April 1st gig with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mike's song, 'My Little Secret", has recently made  X102.3fm's "Extreme Essentials compilation disc.  This cd is "the best of the best" in the 102.3fm listening area.  On Wednesday, Dec. 22nd, Mike will be performing with several of the bands who made the cd @ Piere's Entertainment Complex.

In less than 3 weeks, Mike's cd, "My Little Secret" has over 400 copies in circulation!! News - November 24th, 2004  

Mike Conley's debut album, "My Little Secret" is in stores now.  This week's Whatzup magazine and Wooden Nickel Records have named Mike's cd the "Cd of the Week".  Check out Whatzup magazine for this wonderful achievement.

News - August 4th, 2004

Mike Conley will be performing in his second "Pop Filter" show on August 14th.  "Pop Filter" is a multi-media event that explores the arts with a variety of interesting & unique approaches........It is "an immerse, subversive experiment".

Mike will be doing an "all-original" M.O.M.S. show on Tuesday, August 24th @ Columbia Street West.  Mike will be performing all of his tunes from his soon-to-be-released CD.  That same evening, one of Ft. Wayne's hottest new band's, The Brown Bottle Band, will also be performing a very special "unplugged-set".  This will be the first official "all-original" set for the BBB & it promises to be a really cool night.......So, come out, damn it!!

News - May 17th, 2004 

One of Mike Conley's original songs has made a compilation Cd. The Cd is called " A Hot Cat in a Dog's World". The proceeds will benefit autism and a cd release party will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd at the Mad Anthony Brewery/ Original Munchie Emporium in Fort Wayne. Several of the artists will be performing & Mike is slated to perform around 8:00.  The title of Mike's song on the cd is "We'll Make It" & was co-written, produced & recorded by Mike's good friend - Steve Wright. Mike's intention is to make this song available exclusively on this cd, with no future re-release.
Mike's own soon-to-be-released album is rapidly approaching completion. A "late-summer" or "early-fall" release date can be expected.

News - March 29th, 2004  

 On Tuesday, April 13th, Mike will be performing an "all-original" show at Columbia Street West. Mike will be sharing the evening with the talented guitarist from The Freak Brothers, Dan Mihuc. Not only is this a rare "all-original" show for Mike, but, also for Dan. Dan's solo project explores an entirely different realm as compared to his incredibly popular band............. This promises to be a very, very special show.

On February 26th, 2004, Mike Conley was awarded two Whammy Awards for: "Best Live Solo Performer - 2003" & "Best Live Duo - 2003/ w John Forbing". Whatzup Magazine's version of "The Grammy", "The Whammy," is a reader's poll award that recognizes the efforts of Northeast Indiana's artistic community. Whatzup Magazine has just announced that the "Best of 2003 Whammy Awards Program" will be held at Columbia Street West on Thursday, February 26th. The show kicks off at 7:30 & will be hosted by "Big Nick" Crickmore of the Troolee Dangerous Blues Revue. Mike is nominated for 2 awards - "Best Live performer - solo" & "Best Live performer (w/ John Forbing) - Duo". News - January 12th, 2004

On January 17th, Mike will be performing @ Pop Filter - "Everything You See & Hear" / a multi-media art event. It's safe to say that this show may, very well, be the "first-of-it's-kind" in northern Indiana. With cool visual art, video remixing, alternative reality TV, poetry & a variety of live musical acts - Pop Filter promises to be an experience to remember.
